Wenzel Wins Choppy Baldwin 100

Another beautiful day for racing was provided by Mother Nature as the fans and teams took to the Original Family Fun track for the Choppy Baldwin Memorial 100 for the MacMulkin Chevrolet Sportsman Modifieds. The Hudson Heroes youth racing program made their first appearance at the track along with the Senior Tour Auto Racers, Granite State Indoor Range Six Shooters, MLM Diagnostic Pure Stocks, and the Northeast Auto Import Super Streets.

The Hudson Heroes youth racing program took to the track to kick off the evenings feature activities to show the Hudson faithful that the future is bright for auto racing. For those unaware, this program runs on Thursday evenings at Hudson to teach youth about auto racing. For details check them out on Facebook at Hudson Heroes Youth Racing Program. Emily McInnis in the 23 flew around the high banks to take the win. Quinton Perkins in the 12 finished in 2nd. Sophie Charbonnier-Marshall in the 3NH was 3rd and rounding out the field was the 30 of Allison.

Senior Tour Antique Racers brought two divisions to the high banks showing the fans the cars of yester-years. The sportsman division saw Dale Butler in the #4 coupe modified take the win followed by #00 of Mark Parmentier and the #23CT of Ken Archambault. The modified division saw #2 coupe of Dennis Desautels win followed by the # 1NH of Gary Moore and #70 of Skip Swiantek.

Granite State Indoor Range Six Shooters took to the track next, and it would be Trystin Bodwell in the 17x leading from green to checker to take the win. Steve Miller Jr in the 79 was 2nd but it was the battle with Michael Yeaton in the 25NH that wowed the fans. Yeaton was forced to settle for 3rd. While Steve Miller Sr in the 68 finished 4th and Mike Comtois in the 52NH was 5th.

Choppy Baldwin Memorial 100 for the MacMulkin Chevrolet Sportsman Modifieds was the next on the track and they didn’t disappoint with action packed the entire race. Coming to complete lap one, the 07 of Scott Zilinski would find himself atop the 46 of Jeremy Zullo coming out of turn 4. On the restart Tyler Leary would put his #11x out front leading until lap 89 when the 03 of Nate Wenzel was able to get by. Wenzel would hold on to take the win followed by Leary in second. Zullo recovered from the lap 1 incident to finish 3rd. Cole Littlewood used a last lap pass to put his #73 4th and JT Cloutier in the 13 wrapped up the top 5.

MLM Diagnostic Pure Stocks rolled out on to the track with the 56ma of Scotty Blanchard and 17 of Bobby Payne on the front row. Payne would take off into the lead and would survive late race challenges from the 1NH of Carlos Grenier and the 03 of Kayden Fisette to take the win, Grenier would finish second and on a last corner pass by Mackenzie Belisle in her #21 was able to take 3rd. Fisette finished 4th and Chris Quin drove his #76 to 5th place finish.

Northeast Auto Import Super Streets were the last division to run but the entertainment was there. While the cabana boy Justin Beecher in his #57 machine ran away with the show to take the win and Chuck Dehney in the 33w finished 2nd. The battle for the third spot wasn’t settled until the finish line as Chip Laquire in the 96 wrestled his way onto the podium finishing 3rd over the 8 of John Sousa who settled for 4th and the 45 of Stephan LeClair.
