FUNtastic day at the Family Fun Track!

Hudson, NH- Hudson Speedway held what has become an annual Monday Funday on Labor Day! Fans were gifted a great day of racing action and weather. Racers were gifted with a large crowd and great competition!

The Hudson Heros Youth Racing Program ended their 2024 program with a 15 lap feature and for the first time the racers ran without the throttle restriction in front of fans. They did not disappoint as they were running lap times comparable with some of the top MLM Diagnostic Pure Stocks! The 3 of Sophie Carbonnier-Marshall motored her way to the win. Quinton Perkins in the #12 car recovered from a mid race issue to finish 2nd! Emily McInnis in the #23 tried everything to hold onto 2nd but had to settle for 3rd.

Pro V8 Sportsman were in town for some high octane action. The 74 of Scott Duval lead the first 4 laps before Mitchell Wendell in the 21 took the lead and ran away with it for the win! Duval held on to finish 2nd and Nick Prenaveau in the 29H ran a strong race to finish 3rd! Robbie Robinson (5) finished 4th and the 99 of Matt Robinson rounded out the top 5!

The 603 Mini Cup Racing Series also rolled into the high banks for competition. Kendall Whitehall in the #13 took the win with Hayden Kingsley in car #29NH in 2nd and the 77 of Ryan Nelson in 3rd!

The Fan Favorite 1 on 1 Drags and Spectator race took place as well.. Jarred Smith took the win in the 1 on 1 Drags in a thrilling display. While Charlie Guardino was able to take the win in the spectator race.

The Hudson Hornets, formerly the ladies enduro put on a great show for the fans as Callie Osborne in car #59 captured the win with Angela Bullock in car 089 in 2nd and Mikayla Duval in the #73 in 3rd!

The Hudson Hippos are continuing to see growth in the number of participants and growing to be a favorite division of many took to the track. Steve Clark in van #81 took the win.

The 6/8 cylinder enduro saw a great car count with action all over the track.

The 4 cylinder enduro went 50 laps with the 06x of Andrew Hills ran away with the show while the 135 of Alby Ovitt came from the back to finish 2nd and the 63 of Nicholas Woodside made a last lap pass for 3rd.

For the first time the Grand Prix or kidney bean layout was used and it was some of the most exciting racing of the day. But then again wasn’t a lot of boring action at any point of the day. 4/6/8 cylinders all ran together. It was 97 of Danny Gill.

The second ever figure 8 race took place and had the finish had their fans on their feet! Inaugural figure 8 winner Aaron Kenny in the 00NH took the lead early before giving way just after the halfway mark to the 0No being driven by track owner Ben Bosowski who decided to get in on the fun. On the last lap coming into the last turn contact between Kenny sent Bosowski sideways and spinning out. Which brought a roar from the crowd who a lap before was cheering Bosowski on! Kenny took the win with Bosowski finishing 2nd.

To end the days events the flagpole race made its return. The 017 of Jon Demanche Jr. took the early lead or did he? Initial call out of race control was he missed the tire on the first lap. So most of the race it was believed the 00NH of Aaron Kenny was leading. The 97 of Danny Gill got a flat on lap 3 and would get help into the pits by the 16 of Bud Wilkins. Gill would return a few laps later and made hard contact with Kenny causing a traffic jam at the tire and ending Kenny’s day. The 4 of Steve Miller Jr. took the lead as he was helped over the tire by Gill. Miller Jr took the lead and the checkered flag. After the dust settled and videos were watched it was determined that Demanche Jr. did go around the tire and was awarded the win!

We are next in action Sunday September 15th for a Sunday FUNday with the Hennessey Memorial Open Pure Stock race, Pro V8, Hudson Hippos, Hudson Hornets, one on one drags, spectator race, 4 cylinder enduro, and 6/8 cylinder enduro, Both enduros will run regular and the Grand Prix style/kidney bean layout.
